You can specify your drivers for the data source if you do not want to download the provided drivers.
#Mac mongo gui driver#
The IDE does not include bundled drivers in order to have a smaller size of the installation package and to keep driver versions up-to-date for each IDE version. As you click this link, IntelliJ IDEA downloads drivers that are required to interact with a database. On the Data Sources tab in the Data Sources and Drivers dialog, click the Add icon ( ) and select MongoDB.Īt the bottom of the data source settings area, click the Download missing driver files link. In the Database tool window ( View | Tool Windows | Database), click the Data Source Properties icon. In this case, the connection URL will look like: mongodb://localhost:27017/local?authSource=admin. If no authentication database is specified, MongoDB uses the admin database by default.įor example, you want to connect to the local database but your authentication database is admin. If the authentication database differs from the database to which you want to connect, specify the authentication database with the authSource parameter in the URL. Not sure I like the dialogs/features for assisting you with updates and queries, but it’s optional and if found not useful, then just don’t use those features. In MongoDB, for authentication, you must provide a username, password, and the authentication database that is associated with this username. Have just spent a very short time with it, but looks OK and gets the work done for now.

Looks like there’s a really good alternative, which I didn’t know about before. Unfortunately (as of current writing) it does not seem to support MongoDB 3.0+ and WiredTiger.

When it comes to having a GUI for MongoDB on Windows, my previous, preferred software of choice has been Robomongo.
